Disaster, sudden change, shaken foundations, revelation, disruption.

Meaning

Like a lightning strike: Forced, unexpected, sudden, huge change. It doesn't necessarily have to be frightening or ominous. Change is part of life. While initially painful, it clears the way for new experiences.

The situation, relationship, or project is not built on truth and solidarity.

Poor foundations. Ambition that is constructed on faulty premises. Be positive, it is time for you to replace the old foundations of the past with something that is more genuine and will serve you better in what is to come. Be prepared to build anew but with a stronger foundation and a new wisdom.

Shake-up, upheaval, threat, release, downfall, rude awakening, impending doom, chaos, confusion, bankruptcy. It might get as dark as trauma, abuse, violence, divorce, pain, (natural) disasters, tragedy, accidents, loss, inevitable arguments. Destruction, devastation, unforeseen catastrophe.

The old structure of your lower self and false ego being destroyed. Your life has to fall apart, the old ways must go, as a necessary process to awakening. The Tower brings sudden, shocking awareness. It’s the opening of the third eye.

We must abandon the truths that we have known prior to this event. The old ways are no longer useful, and you must find another set of beliefs, values and processes to take their place.

Think of yourself as an agent of transformation. This self-sacrificing role is likely to create stressful situations. Your vision shows you that a radical change has already been unleashed by forces much larger than mere mortals, and therefore you are no longer resisting.

Its revelations can come in a flash of truth or inspiration.

When it comes to your love life, your romantic relationship may be nearing its end. It’s a warning: If you really value it, then it’s time for you to do damage control or open communication to clear misunderstandings. See if the relationship has a weak or crumbling foundation. Your whole concept of love may transform. Temporary disasters at work could work out long-term, like leading to a job that suits you better.

Reversed Meaning

Resisting change. You can feel some crisis looming along the horizon, and you are struggling to try and avoid its manifestation. What you have not realized is that these breakdowns can be beneficial in breaking down your reliance on something that is false. The Tower is built on faulty foundations, and it must fall. Though the destruction will be painful, the humility resulting from it can bring us peace. Delaying the inevitable. Averting disaster.

What you relied on will no longer be there for you. Do not take this as a drastic and depressing change, it is time for you to become more self-reliant.

You may be ready to leave a relationship or job that has not been working. This may be the chance you needed to open your eyes to what else could be awaiting you.

It’s also possible the drama is over, the disaster may have been narrowly avoided. However, it may have been better long-term to allow it and start over stronger.
